3 Good/3 Bad - Week 6

8 November 2013  |

The number one not necessarily mountain bike related weekly round up from a mountain bike magazine is back! Check out 3 Good / 3 Bad from Angus's week...

Good

News stories that made me smile…

Not exclusive to this week as it usually is something that happens every week but here are 2 classics that got me laughing this week…

1. The news that a statue of legendary cricket umpire Dicky Bird has been raise on it’s plinth by 5 foot in an attempt to stop members of the public hanging rude items on his infamous outstretched finger…

Read more here on the BBC.

2. The news that a male guinea pig broke free from his cage and entered a pen of 24 females. After impregnating each one in a wild night of romance “Sooty” is now the proud father of 43 children…

What a stud.

3 good 3 bad

Getting back out with the camera.

Yesterday I got on the road and made a trip to Longleat to go and shoot a video with Southern downhill legend, Ben Deakin, Identiti Bikes, Chris Smith and the one and only Steve Geall!

We had a right laugh and the video should be landing online at some point next week if things go to plan! Expect a bit of a retro vibe with plenty of pans and zooms!

Chris Smith

Here's a snap of Chris looking on yesterday shortly before showering both me and the camera in roost... Really excited about how yesterday turned out!

The Weekly playlist…

It’s becoming a bit of a staple 3 good 3 bad staple…

Just a snippet of some of the tunes that have been getting me through the working week. Highlights from this weeks 10 have a bit of a mixed vibe as always…

Expect a bit of pop punk cheese thrown in the mix with some classic floorfillers and the quite frankly beautiful Cinematic Orchestra.

3 Bad.

My Trusty Peugeot 307’s heater dying.

You may of seen me moaning about it over on my Twitter this week but this week the heating in my trusty Peugeot 307 “dad wagon” decided to go on the blink. Perfect timing just as we begin to enter the winter months…

With no demisting available at the moment I have to drive around rain or shine with all the windows down in a hat, coat and gloves as it’s so damn freezing to keep the air moving and stop the windscreen misting… It’s not a good look.

Carl permanently moaning about solicitors “Robbing him”.

Carl is currently going through the process of buying a new house which is very exciting but I am wearing thin of hearing him moaning about how on an almost hourly basis he’s had another phone call from his solicitors to say that they have just robbed him once again…

The A303.

Without doubt my least favourite road in the UK. A hellish mix of single and dual carriageway that winds itself along along the south coast providing the most direct route from the Devon to London...

The road itself is annoying but my pet hate is when a lorry feels it necessary to pull the miracle 2 mile overtake on a fellow HGV driver that gains him all of about 25 metres extra gap up the road. That's fine but don't do it if it's going to take the entire 2 mile dual carriageway section to pull this move before another 4 miles of single carraigeway stuck behind a lorry.

I'll be back next week for more 3 good/3 bad action... Have a great week!
